(check yesterday's post for yesterday's winner)
I lost my cell phone last month. It's been hell. phone numbers gone, convenience gone. But I hate Sprint. so when my service is up in Sept I'm going to be shopping for a new plan. However, I needed a replacement phone till then. since Sprint's phones are so expensive, I went to the local dealer and bought a used one to get me through. UGH! no caller ID, the damn thing won't hold a charge, can't hear on it. it's broken my cell phone habit that's for sure. Any way that's my misery this week so I suppose I don't have anything to truly bitch about. =)
So today I'm giving away Darah Lace's Wrong Number, Right Man.
I absolutely LOOOOve this book. Hopefully Darah will stop by today and say hello.
Blurb: After too much wine, Lori Duncan calls her ex and initiates phone sex to prove him wrong--she's not boring and predictable. Jack Hartwell answers his roommate's phone and goes along with his sexy next door neighbor's game until he realizes her fantasy includes him and not his roommate. Was her slip of tongue intentional or just part of the game?
***
excerpt:
"Are you alone?"
The soft whisper rasped through the cell phone, but Jack Hartwell recognized his best friend's voice and figured what Lori really wanted to know was whether his roommate had left yet. "It's just me."
"What are you doing?"
Her hushed tone triggered his guilt. Adam had dumped her the week before, and she'd been hiding in her apartment next door, dodging Jack's attempts to check on her. He'd been the one to set them up and soon realized his mistake. He hated that she'd been hurt, but he was glad they'd broken up and was biding his time until she healed before he made his own move.
Hoping that time had come, he settled into the black leather recliner she helped him pick out almost a year ago and muted the volume on the television. "Watching the game."
"What are you wearing?"

Hopefully, Darah will come by and give us a longer tease.

So for my questions today
do you love a little phone tease and if you do . . .
what cell phone provider do you use and do you like them? (lol I'm shopping)
or better, is there a provider I should avoid?

Can't help you on the phone providers as I live in the UK and ours are different.
Have to admit I've gotten a bit flirty on the phone with wrong numbers before. Even had one guy ask me out on the basis of my voice, which I've been told can sound very sexy over the phone...maybe I should take up phone sex as a career. Complete confusion once when the chap I miscalled had the same name as the person I intended to call and I've got the same name as someone he knew. Took us about 20 mins of chatting before we finally figured it out. LOL.
Love to be flirty on the phone...provider is AT&T...I love them, but then, I live in LA...and I have heard, we have very few problemas with cell phone providers...everyone seems pretty satisfied...unlike San Diego...I guess it is a matter of coverage...lol...
best to you..
ADELANTE!!!

Hi KyAnn, thanks for blogging about Wrong Number, Right Man. Verizon gets my monthly donation. I like it well enough but I need to up my minutes. My cell habit is getting expensive. It would be worth it if I were talking to someone like Jack though. Here's why...
“You might have made that first call with Adam in mind, but you knew soon enough it was me.”
Boy, had she ever. Lori glanced at the bed. All the vivid images she’d had of him came rushing back. She shoved them aside for later when she could enjoy them and took her pacing to the living room, away from distraction. “If I’d known it was you, we wouldn’t have had...um...”
“Phone sex?”
Her steps faltered at his low, rumbling tone.
“I don’t know,” he went on. “Maybe you’re afraid of the real thing.”
“That’s ridiculous. I’ve had the real thing.”
“Not with me.”
His voice came from behind her, and she spun to find him leaning against her front doorjamb, cell phone to his ear and looking so incredibly hot, almost as she’d imagined him. His black hair fell in all directions as though he’d run his finger through it numerous times. He wore a T-shirt--grey and wrong side out. His jeans hung low on his hips, the top two buttons open, and his feet were bare.
Glancing up, she met his hungry gaze and almost burst into flames. She swallowed hard and forced another lie. “But I don’t want to have the real thing with you.”
“Liar.”
Great excerpt. Sounds good. I do like to be flirty on the phone. AT&T is the provider I use.
Oh wow, I like and want to hear more!!! Great excerpt!
My provider is *gulp* Sprint. They have been OK for us, but you are right...the prices of their phones is crazy! We stay with them maily because of a work discount. Good luck on your search!

Forgot to add...I have been a little flirty on the phone. I tend to be a bit on the shy side at times, but it is fun every once in a while...hee hee.
For sure, I love some teasing on the phone... To be flirty is nice. Great excerpt, really teasing!
One doesn't realize they depend on the cell phone until something like this happens. I have had good servce with AT&T but a friend of mine has had lousy dealings with Sprint. She changed too.
Wrong Number, Right Man sounds good. I have added it to my TBR list

Whoohoo, great excerpt, Darah! I love the visual of him standing there with his jeans unbuttoned and his feet bare. ;-) If I don't win, I'm definitely buying this one!
My neighbor just lost her phone in the ocean.
I have AT&T and I'm not happy with them. We don't get a signel in or near our new home. :-(

Hi, Our family loves AT&T! My husband and two sons know quite a bit about cell phones, electronics, etc. At&T has bee their favorite service. I am not into phone sex. Thanks, Cindi

A little flirting is fun. Verizon offers better coverage where I live.
I've been with AT&T forever -- cell phone, home phone, long distance, all of it -- and have always been satisfied!
By the way, the book sounds like such fun!
Hubby and I have Verizon and we have been satisfied so far. This sounds like a great book. Cool plot.
Can't stand Nextel/Sprint the coverage sucks... just saying.
Yup, have gotten flirty on the phone before.. okay more than flirty, but I married the man, so no harm done. LOL
Great excerpt, and I have to agree with Liza, if I don't win I'm buying it.
I use US Cellular and I haven't had a problem with them.
Thanks everyone! Wrong Number, Right Man was a fun to write and I hope you enjoy Lori and Jack's phone flirtation. Here's another small taste.
“I’m not lying.” And she wasn’t. Well, only half lying. The very idea of sex with Jack scared the hell out of her. Besides the possible damage to their friendship, what if she couldn’t measure up to his expectations of a lover?
“Then why did you say my name?” He continued to speak through the phone, softly, deliberately, as he pushed away from the door and moved toward her. “And why did you describe me last night?”
With each step he took, she backed up two, shaking her head. “I-I didn’t.”
She edged past the end of the couch and bumped into the wall. When he closed in, she took the only opening left, sliding sideways and through the bedroom door.
“You did.” He followed, stalking her slowly. “Right down to my appendectomy scar.”
So he had caught that little slip of the tongue. Why hadn’t he said something?
“And why did you call me tonight?”
She couldn’t answer without revealing her feelings. Telling him she loved him was out of the question.
Her knees hit the bed as he lowered Adam’s phone and snapped it shut. “No more talk.”
He reached for the handset still pressed to her ear, turned it off and tossed both phones on the chair. The black lace teddy slithered off the arm and pooled on the floor.
With a growl, he slid an arm around her waist and yanked her hard against him. Her breath caught as she recognized the granite-hard length pressed to her belly. His other hand tilted her head so she was forced to look at him. Not that she could have taken her eyes from his--so dark with lust she couldn’t make out his pupils.
He lowered his head until his breath feathered her lips. “Time for action.”
A little phone lovin' is fineeee with the right hottie.
I use Virgin Mobile and have no problems with them. I like having a simple plan that is inexpensive but gives me the security of being connected since I live in the country and drive to the city everyday.
Sorry to disappoint you, but we have Sprint, too. They're not my favorite provider! I've only ever had phone sex with my husband, and sadly, I think we're out of practice...LOL!
Rhonda :0)
Hi KyAnn, Years ago I flirted with my boyfriend a bit on the phone.
I would avoid Verizon if I was you. Can you hear me, can you hear me is what I always do and they don't. I'm switching so I'll see what others say here too.
What a fun sounding book!
Hmm... I'm not sure I've been phone-flirty before--might have to try it the next time the husband's out of town ;) As for phone service, I've got Verizon, and they're somewhat pricey, but seem to deliver good coverage :)
I am sorry to hear about your phone, but to answer the question HELL YES I like phone sex! My man can get me wet just by a few phrases and I can make him hard! Oh and you for sure have to get a camera/video phone. Can we say naughty videos or pictures to go along with the phone sex. HA HA
We have the family plan on Verizon and so far it has done well for us. The only problem is we have some dead spots inside our house - aluminum siding we're told, plus beam placement. Who knows. We got my daughter some ridiculous number of text messages monthly, which she pays for. They've been good about replacing phones that have had problems.
I'm a giggler when it comes to talking sexy on the phone.
I'm happy with AT&T. I usually get a lot of roll over minutes, its nice because when I'd go back and visit my family I didn't run out.
Hugs, Danette
