Yay, the weekend is here. My family thinks we don't have plans. I do. The dreaded basement. Toys, laundry, clutter and crap. it just needs cleaned. As I was thinking about my blog this morning and deciding what to write and give-away, I looked at the titles I have yet to showcase. My husband is Scottish and I started to chuckle when I thought how he'd feel about his Highlander's Challenge--the basement. So thanks again to Jo for donating to my 31 Days of Christmas in July.

Blurb:Amelia Tucker, or Tuck as she prefers to be called, latest personal bodyguard assignment turns into one she'll never forget, thanks to a crazed kidnapper, one enchanted fountain, and a sixteenth century Highland Warrior determined to keep her under lock and key. Who will win this battle of wills?

So is there a challenge in your weekend?

He gripped her firmly by the shoulders. "Damn it, woman! You traipsed around the wood for hours. Did your plans tae secretly meet fail because you knew I was following?"

She growled low, the deep pain he'd seen in her eyes and heard in her voice were gone. "It's the same old song with you. You're just too stubborn to admit you're wrong."

Swiftly rotating her arms, she knocked his hands free of her shoulders. "And don't think that because I let you drag me in here like some conquering warlord, that I'm afraid of you. I could put you on your back without stirring a breeze."

He leaned closer. "No woman could put me on my back unless that was where I wished tae be with her riding astride," he said lowly.

Her eyes widened and her cheeks colored. So her armor was not so thick after all. The lass had a soft underbelly, but he truly wished he hadn't spoken of such things. The words brought to life too many tantalizing images.

"No woman would want you," she spat, and turned away.

He snagged her by the arm and spun her around. She countered by grabbing his wrist and pulled, attempting to throw him off balance so she could jerk free, but he was too quick for her. Snatching her good wrist, he shoved her hand behind her back and leaned against her, imprisoning her in his arms. The moment he felt her toned shapely body pressed against him, he was lost. He could think of nothing, but how much he wanted to taste her.

His lips met hers--hard. He wildly feasted on her mouth as a low growl rumbled in the back of his throat. She answered the call, pressing against him with just as much force, just as much hunger. It stirred his blood to know that she too suffered the same pains as he, the same yearnings.

His hand slid down her back to the odd trews she wore, relishing the way they molded to her firm, round bottom. Cupping her sculpted flesh, he pressed her firmly against his aching shaft. He had to have her. Now.

Great excerpt KyAnn. Sounds like my weekend will be similar to yours, I'll be trying to shift some of the rubbish my brother left in his house, not to mention having to start on the overgrown garden

Oooh! Can I have a Highlander of my very own? Pretty please!!! LOL

My challenge for the weekend....cleaning out the closet, literally. If anyone wants to help, I will be glad to give my address as I could certainly use a few extra hands. I am a packrat, you see. I am so not looking forward to it.

That excerpt was great! Your weekend sounds like mine. I have cleaning to do as well. I am such a packrat and have alot of decluttering to do. I am dreading it but I want to try and get it done before the start of the school year.

My challenge is to get off this cruise ship and to San Diego to visit with my father. The flight takes forever.

I love the cover and hot excerpt. The only challenge will be the hot weather. The heat wave started today and will last for a few days.

My youngest son just has all 4 of his wisdom teeth extracted, so that will be one challenge for this weekend! I have a bunch of boxes filled with stuff that needs to be sorted through and divided into separate piles: yard sale, keep, give away, etc. Enjoy your weekend.....Cindi

Great excerpt! I would love to read this book!
My challenge this weekend is to straighten out my garden here. It's been so hot all week and I've neglected my gardening duties. Now I have to intangle all the vines and plants and tie them up.

My challenge is getting prepared for surgery in 3 weeks, gastric bypass. I need to make sure my iron count is up, have always had trouble with that it runs in my mom's family, all the pre-surgical clearances. This week I joined a fitness center to help with my recovery & goals. I have worked out everyday after work(even went after having an in-grown toe nail removed, HAH!)and am sore but hope to keep it up til my surgical date when I won't be able to go for 5-6 weeks

Boy, do I have a challenging weekend ahead of me.!!

I try to get as much accopmplished as possible each weekend for the last month - my best friend came home from the hospital and cannot drive yet and cannot do too much of anything else yet.

Each Mon., Wed., and Fri I take her to therapy and anywhere else she needs to go. Then on Tues. and Thurs. it is Dr. appointments - so, a lot of my time on the weekdays is already accounted for. That only leaves the weekends to catch up on everything not accomplished during the week.

This excerpt is very, very good. I would love to be able to read this book - love men in kilts.

My user name on one site is craftykilter - so you can tell I love those bonny males in kilts.!!!!

HAVE A GREAT EVENING EVERYONE.!!!!
