It's here!

With or Without You by KyAnn Waters coming to Samhain Publishing Sept. 23rd!

So what makes a book cover for you? Hot hero, scenerie, do you care? And do you ever buy a book based on the cover? How important is the cover? If a cover was aweful, would you skim past the book or would you still read the blurb to see if it's something you'd like to read? I admit, if the cover doesn't hook me I'm likely to keep browsing. I don't want to read every blurb. I want the cover to convey the tone and content of the story. I'm happy with all of my covers except Marion's Train. While I think the cover is lovely, it doesn't fit my dark haired, exotic, soiled dove from my book. Marion is a firecracker and the woman on my cover looks regal.

So winner today gets Hot Blooded and a bonus prize for going to my website www.KyAnnWaters.com and emailing me (don't post it here otherwise you give away the answer :)) at kyannwaters@hotmail.com and since we're talking about a picture telling a story. tell me the names of my dogs.

I honestly don't buy based on Cover, but some covers catch my eye so much that I have to at least check it out. I have found a couple of great authors i might not have read because their covers were totally awesome.

I love your cover! Of course, I love you too!

I also don't buy books based on their covers. I do like to like at hot covers, but some are very cheesy. I've also read books where the cover didn't catch my eye, but the book was excellent. A lot of times, the image on the cover doesn't correspond with the premise of the story.

Can't say that I buy on the basis of cover, although I like the cover to reflect the tone of the book. And one may attract me to pick up a book in the first place. I do get annoyed if the cover gives a distinctly wrong impression - like using a comic cover. Something like that can put me off.

Book covers don't influence my decision to read a book as much as the blurb does.

Your covers are great! I don't buy by the cover. I go on author and/or recommendation.

I notice a good cover, but since I read so many books in eformat, I rely more on blurbs and excerpts.

I am the exception here. What will usually draw me to a new author is cover first. If I am browsing through the bookstand and see a cover I like, that will help me decide. The blurb on the back does help the decision, but I won't get to that if the cover does not draw my attention first. =)

Well the cover doesn't do it alone but if it is a good one then it will grab my attention to check the book out a bit closer. A hot male on the cover never hurts but an interesting or unique background is great too.

I love this cover...it is gorgeous and it hooked me in...but I do not usually judge a book by its cover, however, great covers do catch my eye and my interest...

ADELANTE!!!

I have bought a book on more than one occasion simply because I thought the cover was hot, or looked intriguing. Then again, I'm a very visual girl.

Love your cover.

A cover does affect me but not to buying it. If I like a book I would read it regardless of the cover. I love your cover.

Wow, that's a very eye-catching cover. As some others have said, I don't buy based on only the cover, and I do like the cover to reflect what's inside. A good cover is a nice bonus, though!

Ok, lets try this again. I apologize if you get two posts, blogger is hating me this morning. My answer is YES, definitely. The first thing I look for is a cover. If one happens to catch my eye, then and only then will I read the blurb. The only time I will buy a book without a catchy cover is if I have read the author before, or if its someone thats been recommended to me. Like with me if the cover has anything Celtic, I automatically grab for it! :O)
So, yes, a wonderful cover is a MUST!

Book covers don't influence my decision to buy a book. I will pick up a book if the cover is interesting to see what it is about.
