This past week I did a week long promotion. I had to write short essays. So I am going to repost here on my blog.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…
And it will probably be your money. Now I’m not the best person to ask for advice regarding battle in the casino pits. I had a lucky turn on the roulette wheel once, then lost it twenty minutes later at the blackjack table. Blame it on the greyhounds, and I’m not talking about the dog races. (For those who aren’t familiar, a greyhound is vodka and grapefruit juice.)
But here are the tidbits of advice I’ve received for gaming hell.

Blackjack- Never play dealer rules, and always hit on a twelve.
Now in craps, the advice was to pass or don’t pass and come or don’t come. But
I don’t play craps…and in my erotic world a woman…err…player should always come!
Should we talk slots? My advice, these are a good option after your third greyhound.
Video poker, the upside to this game is that you don’t risk losing your clothes, just your money.

In the Cougar Meets Her Master, available at http://www.thewilderroses.com/, Colt challenges Taylor. A night of sex decided on the turn of a card. Taylor knows one thing, the house always wins…or does it?
Do you gamble or play poker for Cherrios?
Winner today will receive a PDF of The Cougar Meets Her Master

Well, I went to Vegas once as part of a month long coach trip I took of the US and Canada ... can you say exhausting. I was completely overwhelmed by all the bright , flashing lights and those slot machines seemed way too complicated... I limited myself to losing a few dollars on the slots. But I have tried gambling online a few times, just about come out even I think.

Haven't gone to Vegas and my first experience at real gambling actually took place in Okinawa, Japan while visiting my marine cousin & his family. I also had a great time in Tahoe and Atlantic City...I do slots and play with a set amount and whatever I win 1/2 or better doesn't get touched. I usually end up at the least breaking even or winning a $100 or so.

I am not really a gambler. I lost too quickly. My husband was playing at Vegas and was winning. Then I came up and he lost it all. Heavy sigh

Great post! I enjoyed reading it, and I even learned something new (I never knew there's a drink called a greyhound). Thanks :)

When I was in Vegas, I played the nickel slots. I also played a couple of hands of blackjack.

I have never been to Begas. It would be a great experience, I think. I never win in lottery, gambling or such, so I seldom try these.

When I was in Vegas all I played were the slots. I didn't lose money as fast that way.

KyAnn, Hi, just stopping by to see how it's going.

Great hints on gambling. It's really funny...I used to live outside Baton Rouge. They had two gambling boats there, but the only time I gambled (maybe 4 times total) is when I went to Biloxi, MS. I never won and once, my sister and lost all our money (maybe $50 each, could of only be $20) inside of 15 minutes on the slot machines.

It's a fun way to spend time, as long as you know, this is all I'm spending.

I'm enjoying this Christmas In July thing, and as always, doing a contest with you.

Well, I was born in Vegas and used to go back quite often. Never gambled there though. Was always taught it was best not too!! So I just watch and keep my gambling to other games. =)

I have never heard of a greyhound either. Learn something new everyday!

I don't have much experience with gambling. I do play Uno for money, usully wth my 16-year old daughter and my husband. Funny thing is....I always seem to lose my money! LOL!

I've never been to Vegas but I visited a local casino here and played the slot machines. I don't have the guts to gamble so I don't lose very much

I've played slots in Atlantic City, and had the opportunity to gamble in Puerto Rico, which I passed up to spend the money on something that was a certainty rather than a ~gamble.~

When I was a wee little girl my family played a card game called Snitch. You started with three nickels, and if/when you ran out, you could "play on pork" (your honor) for a turn. I don't remember a lot - I think you had to get your cards to add up to 31 (not 21 like Blackjack), and that my Uncle David could somehow never manage to have his cheese and his crackers come out evenly. He always ran out of one or the other and then had to get more, LOL!

Thanks for all the comments. I have only won gambling a couple of times. I usually go with a set amount of money to lose, and gamble until it's gone. I'm cheap. two dollar black jack table and quarter slots are my usual stomping grounds. At least at the blackjack table they keep the greyhounds coming. lol.

thanks again for participating. I still have 3 weeks of prizes!
